FAQs

Can I adjust the spice level?

Absolutely! If you prefer less spice, you can skip the red pepper flakes. For those who enjoy some heat, feel free to add a little more to suit your taste.

Can I use a different type of oil?

While extra virgin olive oil provides the best flavor, you can experiment with oils like sunflower or avocado. However, avoid using neutral oils such as vegetable or peanut oil, as they won’t deliver the desired taste for this dipping recipe.

Recipe Tips

  • Serve in a Shallow Bowl: To make the most of this delightful oil, use a wide, shallow bowl for dipping. This ensures that each piece of bread is loaded with savory spices.
  • Mix Before Dipping: Give the dip a quick stir from time to time to evenly distribute the spices and maximize their impact on your taste buds.

  1. Yum. I have never used minced garlic; going to use your recipe next time. Have you ever heated your oil before serving? It adds a nice touch to zap it in the microwave for about two minutes before serving.

    1. I love to buy and use bottled garlic (and ginger) – you’ll find it in the produce section at most grocery stores. It’s such a time saver.

I have never heated oil before serving – had never thought of it. We will definitely have to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
