How to Make Pink Vanilla Cake Pops

Step 1: Prepare the Cake

  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until the mixture is well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased cake tin and bake according to the box instructions.
  4. Let the cake cool completely at room temperature.

Step 2: Make the Cake Pops

  1. Once the cake is cool, crumble it into fine crumbs using your hands or a food processor with a paddle attachment. This step is relatively easy to do without a food processor or mixer, so I recommend using your hands to eliminate some dirty dishes.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of vanilla frosting to the cake crumbs and mix until everything holds together when pressed.

  1. Scoop out small portions of the cake mixture using a cookie scoop and roll them into balls. Place the cake balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and freeze for 15-20 minutes until firm.

Step 3: Decorate the Cake Pops

  1. Melt the pink candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler according to package instructions. If using the microwave, be sure not to overcook the chocolate melts.
  2. Dip the tip of a cake pop stick into the melted candy coating and insert it into the center of the cake ball.
