In a nutshell, I am a mom of 2 children & 2 dogs, wife of 1….and a messy cook taking life one bite at a time. I have a bachelor’s degree in banking and am also a registered nurse. I like good food, good books, and I love to travel. Currently, I call Alabama home, but my heart loves to roam.
When it comes to Food
I realize that we are all on a journey but may be on different paths. While I have tried just about all of the various diets out there – Paleo, low carb, keto, gluten-free, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig…(you get the idea), I realize that the best diet is the one that works best for the individual. For me, that is being at peace with myself for who I am and behaving myself in the kitchen. I feel like the more plants we eat and the less meat the better off we are. But I am not judging others for where they are on their journey. It is my hope that I might be able to inspire others wherever they are on their path towards health and happiness.
To Travel is to Live
Is there anything more fun than being in an airport surrounded by people from different cultures? Okay, I get that is not for everyone, but we learn so much when we get out of our comfort zones. Not only do we learn about others, but we also learn more about ourselves – our strengths, our weaknesses, and sometimes we discover and find new things to enjoy. There is beauty everywhere – we just have to get out there and look for it.
Want to see some samples of my work? My personal picks for you would be my posts about Rips On the Lake in Mandeville, Louisiana and Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, Louisiana. They are older posts, but bring back fond memories for me of a good time near the Big Easy.
Southern Kissed is PR Friendly. I particularly like to review food, but I review other items as well. If you have a good product that you would like for me to try out and share with my readers, please email me at email@example.com. Please note: if the product is not good or there are flaws, I will either not write about the product or will point out what I see as the “cons.”
I like to have giveaways for my readers. Contests are generally open only to those with addresses in the United States. Winners are notified via email and have 48 hours to claim their prize or it will be awarded to another entrant.
