When brownies are done baking, they should be slightly firm to the touch and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean. The edges of the brownies should also be slightly pulling away from the sides of the pan.
Can you freeze red velvet brownies?
Yes, you can freeze red velvet brownies. To do so, wrap the cooled brownies in individual pieces in plastic wrap and place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. When ready to eat, thaw the brownies at room temperature for a few hours before serving. The cookies will become soft after freezing, but they will still be perfectly edible.
Tips & Tricks
- Try using beet powder or natural food coloring to give the brownies a red hue.
- For an extra layer of flavor, try adding some chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter before baking.
- If you like vanilla, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture.
- If you want to make these brownies even more decadent, try topping them with a drizzle of melted white chocolate or caramel sauce.
- If you don’t have a 7×11-inch baking dish, you can use a 10-inch round pan or a 9-inch square baking dish.
