Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined (453 g)
  • ยฝ cup cornstarch 2.21 oz | 60 g
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • Oil to fry

  • 1 teaspoon water
  • ยผ cup walnuts 1.06 oz | 30 g

Sauce

  • ยฝ cup mayonnaise 4.23 oz | 120 g
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

Sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and honey. Set aside.

Walnuts

  • In a saucepan, stir honey and water together on medium heat. Bring to a simmer and add walnuts. Cook until sticky.

Shrimp

  • Heat a pan with 1 cup oil on medium high heat. Add cornstarch with salt and pepper in a bowl. Add egg in another bowl. Dredge shrimp in the cornstarch bowl then in the egg bowl. Fry shrimp until golden and crispy. Place on a plate with kitchen paper to remove the excess of oil.
  • Add shrimp in a bowl, coat with the sauce and top with candied walnuts.
