Ingredients You Need 

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet Ranch dressing mix
  • 10.5 ounces condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup water or chicken broth

How to Make Crockpot Chicken & Gravy

  • Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a CrockPot that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle the top of chicken with Ranch mix and dollop cream of chicken soup on top. Pour water or chicken broth on top and set the slow cooker to LOW.

  • Cook for 6-8 hours on LOW.
  • Once the chicken has cooked, turn the slow cooker off and shred chicken with forks or a hand-held mixer.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Store leftover chicken and gravy in an airtight food storage container in the refrigerator.

Tips

To quickly shred the cooked chicken, use a handheld mixer and let the beaters “pull” the chicken apart.

Spoon the chicken and gravy mixture over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles along with green beans or a simple green salad or fruit salad.

Season with black pepper and additional salt, if desired.

If you are working on keeping your carbs to a minimum, serve over cauliflower rice.

FAQs

Can you put raw chicken in a Crockpot?

Yes, you can.  According to the USDA, “The direct heat from the pot, lengthy cooking and steam created within the tightly-covered container combine to destroy bacteria and make the slow cooker a safe process for cooking foods.”

Is it better to cook chicken on HIGH or LOW in the slow cooker?

For best results, cook chicken on LOW in a slow cooker/Crockpot.
