Probiotic Gelatin Shots
You can enjoy these probiotic gelatin shots without feeling guilty. They are easy to make using only two ingredients: GoodBelly juice and a packet of unflavored gelatin.
Probiotics have been in the news a lot lately. The microscopic bacteria are beneficial to our digestive system (pro has the meaning “in favor of, favoring.”) Probiotic bacteria are naturally found in our bodies, as well as in some food and supplements.
GoodBelly is a line of delicious probiotic drinks formulated for daily digestive health.* Made with the highly efficacious and well-studied probiotic strain,Lactobacillus plantarum 299v (LP299VĀ®), GoodBelly helps establish intestinal balance with a wide array of products and flavors.* GoodBelly drinks are always non-GMO, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan and kosher. Every serving has the digestive helpers your body needs and tastes great, too.
I created some probiotic gelatin shots using GoodBelly juice and the results were pretty neat.
Ingredients
Making homemade gelatin is really easy and you only need two ingredients: GoodBelly juice and a packet of unflavored gelatin.
How To Make Probiotic Shots
Start by measuring out 2 cups of juice. Next, pour Ā¼ of it into a jar or bowl and add the packet of unflavored gelatin.
Stir until the gelatin appears to be dissolved. Next, measure out Ā¼ cup juice (from the original 2 cups) into a small glass bowl and microwave it on HIGH for 60 seconds.
Add the heated juice to the gelatin mixture and stir well.
Add the remaining juice and stir some more.
Pour the liquid gelatin into small plastic shot “glasses” and put them into the refrigerator to firm. It takes about 2 hours before they are ready to eat.
GoodBelly juice drinks come in 7 flavors: Mango, Blueberry Acai (my favorite), Pomegranate Blackberry, Tropical Green, Cranberry Watermelon, Tropical Orange, and Coconut Water. I used Pomegranate Blackberry in the shots pictured.
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that have been found to ease symptoms of diarrhea, constipation, gas, bloating, and other common digestive ailments, as well as support proper immune function. GoodBelly’s probiotic, LP299VĀ®, supports digestive health when consumed daily.*
Research shows that LP299VĀ® survives the passage through the stomach’s acidic environment so it can reach the rest of the digestive system and provide such benefits. LP299VĀ® is a highly efficacious and well-researched probiotic with more than 16 research trials and 20 years of use that support its efficacy.
