3. Prepare the Buns: Cut the slider buns in half using a serrated knife. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased casserole dish.

4. Assemble the Sliders: Spread mayonnaise on the bottom layer of the buns. (If you really like mayo, spread it on the cut-side of the top layer of buns, too.) Place slices of Swiss cheese on the bottom buns, followed by the thinly sliced ham and then the remaining cheese. (It is okay if you don’t do it in this order.) Cover with the top of the rolls.

5. Apply the Glaze: Using a pastry brush, brush the buttery sauce generously over the sliders, ensuring they are well-covered.

6. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown and crispy.

Tips for Perfect Sliders

  • Poppy Seeds: Add an extra sprinkle of poppy seeds for some crunch and flavor.
  • Variations: For a twist on the classic recipe, try using cheeses like Cheddar or provolone. Also, you are not limited to Hawaiian rollsโ€”use your favorite slider buns or make a batch of our Breadmachine Dinner Rolls and use fresh-baked rolls.
  • Extra Flavor: Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce or honey mustard to the butter mixture for more depth of flavor.
  • Leftover Ham: This recipe is a great way to use up leftover holiday ham or deli ham.

Storing Leftover Sliders

If you have leftover sliders, here’s how to keep them fresh:

1. Refrigeration: Place the cooled sliders in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

2. Freezing: Wrap the sliders in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer bag. They can be frozen for up to 2 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and warm in a preheated oven at 350ยฐF until heated through.
