Tips and Variations

  • For chewy peanut butter cookies, make sure your peanut butter is at room temperature before mixing.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt on top for a salty-sweet balance.
  • These cookies freeze well! Store them in an airtight container or freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
  • Want to take these 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies to the next level? Toss in a handful of chocolate chips – that’s it! Stir about ½ cup of chocolate chips into the dough before baking. The result? That classic sweet-and-salty peanut butter flavor with melty chocolate goodness in every bite. One extra ingredient, zero extra effort. Easy peasy!

Best Results

  • Ensure your cookies have the perfect texture by using creamy peanut butter or natural peanut butter. Both will result in flavorful peanut butter cookies.
  • Although it should not happen, use a rimmed baking sheet to prevent the dough from spilling over, and keep an eye on the baking time to prevent overbaking. The cookies should be lightly browned and soft when removed from the oven.
  • For storage, keep the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. You can also freeze them in a freezer bag for longer storage.
