Wash the Rice: Rinse at least 5 times until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
Prep the Garlic: Mince the garlic cloves finely.
Toast the Garlic and Vermicelli: Heat oil in a medium pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add vermicelli and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Add the Rice: Stir the washed rice into the pot, followed by water and salt. Mix well.
Cook the Rice: Bring the pot to high heat until the water starts bubbling. Reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and cook for 16-18 minutes.
Fluff and Serve: Remove from heat, stir the rice gently, and serve warm. Garnish with parsley or cilantro if desired.
