Scalloped Potatoes and Ham
This comforting dish is a great way to use leftover ham and potatoes.
Servings: 4 people
- 4 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 3 cups whole milk
- 6 cups potatoes thinly sliced
- 1 cup ham diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tbsp dehydrated minced onions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Melt butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Add flour, salt, and pepper and mix. Slowly whisk in milk and increase heat to medium-high.
Cook milk mixture until it begins to thicken and starts to boil. Remove it from the heat.
Layer potatoes, ham, and frozen peas in the bottom of a casserole dish or 9x13 pan. Ladle half of milk mixture on top. Repeat layers.
Cover casserole and bake for 65 minutes. Remove cover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Remove casserole from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
