Rustic Italian Pizza With Cauliflower Crust

By Lynda · Nov 12, 2018 · This post may contain affiliate links.

This Rustic Italian Pizza is super easy to make and a great break from traditional greasy pizzas that weigh you down. Pair it with a side salad and you’ll have a delicious meal in under 30 minutes.

The secret to making this pizza is to start with a cauliflower pizza crust. Don’t worry – you don’t have to pull out your food processor and rice cauliflower and all of the other 200 steps it takes to make a cauliflower pizza crust.

Green Giant has done all of the hard work and created an easy-to-bake cauliflower pizza crust that is made with simple ingredients – all of which we can pronounce! Plus, since the crusts are made with cauliflower, they have fewer calories than traditional pizza dough.

How To Make a Rustic Italian Pizza

Step 1: To make this delicious pizza, start by baking an untopped pizza crust for about 15 minutes.

Step 2: Add the toppings. Start by lightly spraying the pre-baked crust with non-stick spray and then sprinkle Italian seasoning on the top. Next, add a layer of thinly sliced tomatoes. Don’t worry that there is no pizza sauce – it isn’t needed for this pizza.

On top of the tomatoes, add mozzarella cheese. You can easily make this recipe vegan-friendly by using a plant-based cheese if you’d like.

Last, but not least, sprinkle the cheese with dried basil for an added layer of flavor.

Step 3: Bake for an additional 6-8 minutes so that the cheese starts to brown and becomes bubbly.

I like to think of the cauliflower pizza crusts from Green Giant as a clever way of eating my veggies. After all, the star ingredient is cauliflower, you know?

Seriously, it doesn’t get much easier to make a pizza – no prep work and no cleanup. What’s great is that you can top these crusts any way you’d like. You can make a vegan pizza or a meat-lovers’ pizza. You can use pizza sauce if you’d like. It’s up to you.
