Since the holiday season is fast approaching, I am going to share with you an easy way to enjoy Peppermint Frozen Coffee. (Because Christmas and peppermint naturally go together, right?) Even though it is cold outside, it’s nice and toasty inside and you can enjoy this minty coffee concoction. It’s quite easy, especially when using the Ninja Coffee Bar® System.
I was inspired by Ninja’s recipe for Mocha Ninjaccino which was in the Ninja Coffee Bar®System recipe booklet that comes with the incredible coffee system. I have the Carafe System with Pod-free Single Serve. Oh. My. Goodness! It’s so sleek and beautiful. I absolutely love the glass carafe – it’s in a class all by itself.
You know how with typical coffee pots when you go to pour a cup that the lid will sometimes start to “swing” open while you pour? It won’t happen with the Ninja Coffee Bar®System carafe. (The unique design has a central brew-through lid that locks into place.) But let’s get onto why you are here:
How to Make Peppermint Frozen Coffee
Pour 3 cups of ice into a large plastic cup. Brew 4 ounces of concentrated coffee over the ice. (The Ninja Coffee Bar®System makes it easy – just press the SPECIALTY button.
Pour the coffee and ice into a blender and add 1/4 cup peppermint chocolate simple syrup and 1/2 cup milk or cream. Blend until creamy. You can top it with whipped cream and additional peppermint chocolate syrup if you’d like.
I recommend making Peppermint Chocolate Simple Syrup and keeping it in your refrigerator for those times you want something sweet in your Cup ‘O Joe.
Peppermint Frozen Coffee
- 2 large scoops coffee
- 3 cups ice
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1/4 cup Peppermint Chocolate Syrup
Peppermint Chocolate Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cups cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint oil
Place coffee in brew basket and select SPECIALTY setting and brew over ice.
Pour iced coffee into blender and add milk and peppermint chocolate syrup.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into glass and top with whipped cream and additional sauce if desired.
To make Peppermint Chocolate Syrup:
Combine sugar, cocoa powder, and water in a medium-sized pot on low-medium heat and whisk until smooth. Simmer mixture over low heat for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, add peppermint oil, and allow to cool before using. Store in refrigerator.
