Day Three’s Food from Nutrisystem – Doesn’t look like much, does it?
Only two days on the diet and I am down a total of 3.5 pounds. I have been hungry and cranky (sorry, honey). Is it worth it? Well, so far I am feeling a bit smaller, I don’t feel bloated, and I am about half way through. I really hope to make it through all of the way. I needed a catalyst to help me get back to a healthier weight.
I am owning up to the fact that it is my fault for being in the position that I am in. Nobody has forced me to over-eat. Sure, I may blog about food, but that is not a reason to overdo it.
The Nutrisystem box has the line “Jumpstart Your Weight Loss.” That is my hope for this little experiment.
Nutrisystem Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bar
1 cup low-fat yogurt
1 oz. low-fat string cheese
Nutrisystem Chicken Noodle Soup
1/4 cup low-fat parmesan cheese
2 cups side salad
I didn’t have low-fat parmesan cheese, so I added 1/4 cup Italian blend (not pictured).
2-5 whole-grain crackers
1/2 cup 100% vegetable juice
The can of V-8 is 5.5 ounces which makes it 1.5 ounces over 1/2 a cup. Being that the whole container was only 30 calories, I went ahead and drank it all.
Nutrisystem Homestyle Beef & Mashed Potatoes
1/2 cup cooked corn
1/2 cup grilled asparagus
1/2 cup grilled pepper strips
Two words came to mind when I was eating the Beef & Mashed Potatoes – DOG FOOD. Not that I have eaten dog food, but the beef seemed to be poor quality and really did smell like something that I would feed my dogs.
My family ate hot dogs. I *gasp* used my hands when I prepared my son’s hot dog. Then I licked my fingers. Yes, I admit it – I licked them. I was HUNGRY.
Nutrisystem Coconut Almond Bar
The coconut bar was okay. It looks like it had melted or something. I ate it anyway. I was HUNGRY.
For the record, I cheated a little on dinner, too. I bought a small can of asparagus tips that was the equivalent of one cup. I ate the whole thing. I think it was an extra 20 calories. Maybe it helps that I didn’t eat the grilled pepper strips since I did not have any.
