Fun Shops in Downtown Roanoke

Fun Shops

While on a whirlwind of a tour of Roanoke last month, I was able to sneak into 4 shops that I found to be cute and fun.  I am sure there are a lot more in the downtown area, but unfortunately I didn’t have time to explore them all.  In no particular order are the four shops that I would love to go back and spend more time – and money!

La De Da

La De Da

The store’s website describes it as an imaginative and artistic botique.  I could not agree more.  This adorable shop sells clothes that are unique and trendy.  I would describe them as modern steampunk chic.

Some of the brands La De Da carries include Freepeople, True Grit, Cutloose, Cmc/Click, and Silver Jeans.   Their jewelry collection consists of pieces from all over the world, most of it beautifully handcrafted.

The environment inside the store is cozy to say the least.

The store is located at 102 Church Ave SE, Roanoke, VA 24011.  Be sure to check the website for current hours.

Chocolate Paper

Chocolate Paper

If you like chocolate and you like paper goods, then you will feel like you have died and gone to heaven at Chocolate Paper.  The sweet scent of chocolate greets you as you walk through the door.

This fun little shop is filled with cute items that you will want to stuff in your suitcase and take home with you.

There are awesome chocolate candies to try, too!

Chocolate Paper is located at 308-3 Market Street and is open 7 days a week.  Click here and scroll to the bottom for store hours.

Ladles & Linens

Ladles and Linens

I love to go into kitchen shops where ever I go.  My short time in Roanoke would not have been complete had I not been able to go into Ladles & Linens, a cool little kitchen shop near the Center in the Square.

This little shop has so many nice things, you are sure to find something that will be at home in your own kitchen.

This shop has your kitchen needs covered, ranging from colorful little tools all the way to…

…culinary classics such as Le Cresuset and Swiss Diamond.

Ladles & Linens is located at 302 Market Street in Roanoke and is open 7 days a week.  Click here for current hours.

The Candy Store

Just a block or two away from those other neat shops is The Candy Store.  CANDY!  Lots of candy.

This store is not only a child’s dream, but also an adult’s.  Walking into the store, you are greeted by 1200 different types of candy goodness.  The beautiful brick walls of the store are lined with classic jelly beans, gumballs, caramels, licorice, and chocolates.

The store also carries wax lips, giant Pixie Sticks, Pop Rocks, oversized boxes of Nerds, Zots, lollipops, Gobstoppers, Pac Man and Mario sours, Goo Goo Clusters, and Idaho Spuds.

The Candy Store is a great place to pick up a sweet little something to bring back to your loved ones, or to enjoy all by yourself.  Go ahead – nobody will judge you.

The Candy Store is located at 122 Campbell Avenue in downtown Roanoke.

The next time I am in Roanoke, I will definitely go back to all four of these fun shops.  Check them out for yourself!  While you’re there, don’t miss out on some of the fun things to do or great things to eat.
