The beach is calling. Panama City Beach. The same sugar white sand and turquoise water are waiting for you to come back and make some new memories. Here is a list of 8 ways you can make new memories at your home away from home in paradise. pathway to the beach Now is a good time for all of us to start planning our return to Panama City Beach. PCB is still a great place to escape and to soak up some Vitamin Sea. Accommodations on the beach are open and ready and so are the attractions and restaurants.

1. Watch the Sun Rise (or Set) Over the Gulf

With 27 miles of sugar-white sand along the Gulf, Panama City Beach has plenty of beautiful, sandy locations to enjoy amazing sunrises and sunsets all year long. Take a picture and some selfies for moments that will last a lifetime. sunset over pier

2. Build Sandcastles

Panama City Beach is the perfect location for playing in the sand. Go ahead and pull out your buckets and start making your own sandcastle masterpiece. There’s also no better place to play a game of flag football, frisbee, and beach volleyball than on the sugar-soft sand.

3. Search For Shells

seashells on Shell Island Take a shuttle to Shell Island to search for seashells. Shell Island is a natural, undeveloped 700-acre barrier island that is a part of St. Andrews State Park. Shell Island is home to one of the world’s highest concentrations of bottlenose dolphins, so be sure to look for them on the shuttle ride to and from the island.

4. Swim with Dolphins

Speaking of dolphins, book a dolphin-watching cruise with one of the area’s eco-tour operators and you might get the opportunity to swim in the Gulf alongside the beautiful creatures.

5. Go Biking

Riding a bike in Panama City Beach is a great way to explore the area. You can rent a bike and ride on the Gulf front path and stop at Pier Park Mall for some ice cream or opt for a ride at the Panama City Beach Conservation Park and take in some wildlife and bird watching. You don’t even have to go to a bike shop – bikes can be delivered to you!

6. Shop

Pier Park is the ideal spot to engage in some retail therapy. There are 124 stores with items ranging from clothing and shoes to home goods. Because it’s easy to work up a hearty appetite looking for the perfect beach souvenir, there are plenty of restaurants. Even the pickiest eaters can find something delicious at Pier Park.

7. Dine at Award-Winning Restaurants

In addition to seafood, Panama City Beach is known for barbeque, Cajun cuisine, and traditional American food. You can start your day with shrimp and grits for breakfast as the sun rises over the Gulf, mac n’ cheese with brisket for lunch while watching dolphins, and finish the day with seafood gumbo and fried strawberries as the waves lap along the shoreline.

8. Attend PCB’s Premiere Event – UNwineD

Try craft beer, spirits, and wine from around the world along with delicious culinary creations from renowned chefs throughout Northwest Florida. This special event takes place (March 22 and 23) in partnership with Southern Living magazine at Aaron Bessant Park just steps away from the beach. This year the event will include a charitable aspect for first responders and all those that helped at the emergency operations center as well as benefiting/working with World Trade Kitchen. • PCB Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival

It's been over 40 years, but I've been there once! Most recently we visited Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, but still shopped in Panama City!

I looks like a wonderful place to visit, and somewhere you could have an adventure or relax whichever way you choose, it will be a great trip.

How much of PCB has been rebuilt after the hurricane ?? Want to come back in June, just don't know what is available. We usually stay at Tropic Winds. Are most of the restaurants open again?? Pier Park open ?? Hooters open ??

PCB received very minimal damage so many of the places mentioned were not even impacted. Almost all restaurants are open again, Pier Park has been open since after the hurricane and the Skywheel which is new to the area is fully operational. Accommodations are open and ready. The destination is ready for visitors today but by June there should be very little if any aftermath still remaining from the hurricane. The biggest areas the destination is still working to recover are the golf courses (only 2 are operational) and a few of the marinas. Our neighbors Panama City & Mexico Beach were hit much harder which seems to contribute to the confusion of how Panama City Beach is doing. These 2 areas will take longer to re-build but with tourists continuing to come to PCB, they can help with this re-build process.
