Happy Holidays! If you are looking for a cocktail that combines fresh pomegranate with a touch of bubbly that just rings “holiday cheer,” then look no further. The Merry Pomegranate Spritzer that I created for the Stir It Up Holiday Blogger Mixology Challenge does just that.
I am not a bartender and you don’t have to be one either to make this great cocktail. All you need are a few great ingredients, including fresh pomegranates, fresh mint leaves, Simple Pomegranate Martini Cocktail Mix from Stirrings, and white wine spritzer. And ice cubes, but we’re not going to count that as an ingredient.
Being that I am a baker and not a bartender, I like to use standard measuring cups and spoons instead of fancy barware thingamajigs, you know what I mean? That means that this is a recipe that all of us everyday cooks can easily make ourselves.
To get started, pull out your 1/4 and 3/4 measuring cups, as well as a tablespoon. Next, muddle a couple of mint leaves.
Next, muddle a couple of mint leaves. “What’s muddle?” some of you may you ask. That’s bartending speak for smashing ingredients to get them to release their essential oils. They use a muddler, but in the cooking world, a pestle will work. If you don’t have one, like me, simply rub the mint leaves together to essentially do the same thing. Place the leaves in a cocktail glass.
Pour 1/4 cup Simple Pomegranate Martini Cocktail Mix into your glass and 3/4 cups white wine spritzer. Add 2 tablespoons pomegranate arils (seeds) and a couple of ice cubes and BAM! You now have a tasty, simple cocktail that is holiday worthy.
Merry Pomegranate Spritzer is a simply better cocktail.
