Delicious Country Rolls

Have you ever wondered what the most pinned recipe on Pinterest is?  I have, too.  I thought I had once read that it was Hasselback Cheesy Garlic Bread.  I have made that bread and it was good.  It is really good with Italian dishes.

But I found something that is more versatile and EVERYONE in my family loves it.Would you like to know what it is?  (I am guessing you can probably tell by the title of the post and the accompanying picture.)

Yes, you are right.  It is Delicious Country Rolls.  I have honestly made this at least half a dozen times (probably closer to a dozen times) and it always comes out great!

Being that the dough is made with milk makes for a rich roll.  The rolls have a great crumb (do you use that terminology to describe rolls or only cakes?).

Put a little butter or honey butter on them right out of the oven and they cannot be beaten.  They are great with steak, stew, chicken, vegetables, etc.

Sometimes I will slice one open in the morning and place an egg, bacon, and cheese on it for a breakfast sandwich.  My son has gone to school with them in his lunch box.  I use the roll as a base for a sandwich – a little mayo, some shredded lettuce, a slice of tomato, a little bit of luncheon meat……yummmmm!

The directions call for a bread machine.  ***Best kitchen tool – EVER!***  I don’t  use mine to bake bread but rather to just mix the dough.  I imagine you could adapt the recipe to use a mixer if you don’t have a bread machine.

This is my favorite Pinterest recipe.  What’s yours?

[Breadmaking is] one of those almost hypnotic businesses, like a dance from some ancient ceremony. It leaves you filled with one of the world’s sweetest smells… there is no chiropractic treatment, no Yoga exercise, no hour of meditation in a music-throbbing chapel. that will leave you emptier of bad thoughts than this homely ceremony of making bread.”
