Staying comfortable while on the go does not mean that you have to sacrifice cute footwear. Cute footwear great for walking does exist.
After finding out that I had plantar fasciitis, I was afraid that I was going to have to always wear tennis shoes with a custom made orthotic insert. While that’s not so bad while loafing around the house, it would not do for times that I needed to dress up or go on trips for work. Thankfully, I stumbled upon an ad for Vionic shoes in Southern Living magazine that featured some cute shoes that offer support – without the custom insert. I ripped the ad out of my magazine and made a bee-line for my computer so that I could learn more.
What I learned is that Vionic’s story goes back to 1979 when podiatrist Phillip Vasyli invented one of the first heat-moldable orthotics, a low-cost option that allowed patients to walk out of his practice feeling better than when they had come in. That was the groundwork for the award-winning Orthaheel orthotic, the world’s first and only true orthotic available without a doctor’s prescription.
A ground-breaking study has even shown that Vionic sandals effectively alleviate heel pain.* (You can read more about it by clicking here.)
The shoes. Oh. my. goodness! Vionic’s Spring 2017 line is out and they are so cute! I have the Sonora Gladiator Sandal in black and will be sporting it this spring and summer. Since the temperature was warm for a few days, I wore them for a “test drive.” They felt great on and will become one of my summer staples.
Before settling on the Sonora Gladiator Sandals, I tried the super cute Chryssa Open Toe Bootie. It comes in black, light sand, and griege. Unfortunately, my foot is too “skinny” for the bootie. But what is great about Vionic shoes is that you can take a 30-day wear test to make sure that they are right for you.
In addition to cute sandals and booties, Vionic also makes women’s flats & loafers, heels & wedges, boots, active shoes, and slippers. (There are also Vionic lines for men – active, casual and sandals.) What I have been really gushing over are my Vionic Relax Slippers in black. It is so nice having great arch support for those times while I am lounging around the house.
I am so glad that I discovered Vionic shoes. Not only can I lounge around in my comfortable slippers, but I can also travel in style. Do yourself a favor and take care of your feet. Make sure you have good support today or tomorrow you might find yourself at your podiatrist’s office.
